That title, ladies and gentlemen, is what we in the marketing world call a searchable phrase. Or in other words, a group of words that one might type into a search engine. If you have ever typed the title of this article into a search engine, there are two things in which I’m certain we agree on. You might ask, “How do you know we agree on anything?” Well, that is a fine question. We may have differing political leanings, we may even sit on opposite ends of the great PC/Mac debate, but I know with full assurance that we have both come to understand that:
- In our current saturated market, it is absolutely necessary to team up with an advertising or marketing agency
- There is value in working with one that understands the landscape of the local market in which you function
Since we agree on the essentials, let me explain why I believe it is far more important to work with an agency that is willing to invest deeply in your business (even if they are physically located elsewhere), than simply choosing the shop that is located at the end of your block. I will do this by looking at three arguments people generally use for working with a local agency.
